If you’re interested in everything related to weddings and DIY projects, you’ll find other wedding crafts you’re sure to love.

This wedding series started with the DIY wedding guide and continues every week on how to organize different aspects of a very personal wedding.
DIY weddings are becoming increasingly popular, not only because you save a lot of money on materials but also because you can create very personal touches that your guests won’t forget.
If you want to plan a wedding yourself but don’t know how, don’t worry, because here I’ll explain step by step how to do it with guaranteed success. I recommend that you read the complete wedding guide in the weddings category and check out the different tutorials.
It’s important to get organized and know what you want to do, and what I’m proposing here is just an idea. You can then add your personal touch to match your style, your wedding colors, and the overall aesthetic you want.

How to make wedding pins?
The steps to make these wedding boutonnieres are very simple since we only use felt and a silicone gun; we can make a few flower pins for weddings in no time, which will look great as gifts for your guests.
- To begin, we will make the stem of our boutonniere, cutting a small piece of wire and a strip of green felt.
- To cover the seam of the wedding pin and make it look a little nicer, we will place the two leaves.
- To complete the stem of our wedding pin flower, we will also make two leaves out of felt.
- We will put a little silicone on the tip of the wire and glue it to the end of the felt strip. We will wait for it to dry a little and then we will start twisting it with the help of tweezers.
- I recommend waiting until the silicone is dry before you start stretching. When rolling the felt strip, you’ll need to tighten it well so it’s secure, and at the end, add another small dab of silicone.
- And then we move on to the petals of the wedding pin. For this, we will cut a rectangle of a color we like, fold it in half, and make some cuts without going all the way through, just like I do. In the same way we did before with the stem, we will put a little bit of silicone and start twisting it as big as we want our boutonniere to be.
- We can make a single flower or several smaller ones, and if we find it’s too big for our wedding boutonniere, we can cut it and make two flowers from the same strip.
- Once our flower is securely attached, we add a little silicone and then we can mount it on our stem. To finish, we can decorate it with some string and a ribbon. In this case, I’ve made three flowers, but you can design it however you like, even using other elements to complete the decoration.
