Fish and chips recipe in an air fryer
Fish and chips is a classic English dish consisting of breaded fish and chips. Traditionally, this dish is deep-fried in hot oil, which can make it a very high-calorie and heavy meal.
However, it is now possible to enjoy this delicious food in a healthier way thanks to the trendy appliance, the air fryer.
The air fryer cooks food using hot air instead of oil, significantly reducing the amount of fat used in preparing fish and chips. The result is a crispy and tasty meal without the excess fat and calories.
To prepare fish and chips in an air fryer, you only need fresh fish, flour, breadcrumbs, potatoes cut into sticks, and a little cooking spray.
The preparation process is simple and quick, and the result is a healthy and delicious dish that the whole family can enjoy without guilt.
Ingredients
- 4 white fish fillets (cod, hake…)
- 4 medium potatoes
- 200 grams of wheat flour
- 250 ml of beer
- 3 teaspoons of baking powder
- Salt
How to make fish and chips in an air fryer
1) Peel and cut the potatoes into sticks. Place them in a large bowl, add salt, and coat them with a sprinkle of salt. Then, put them in the basket of your air fryer and cook for 25 minutes at 180°C (350°F). If the basket gets too crowded, it’s best to cook them in 2 or 3 batches.
2) Pat the fish fillets dry with kitchen paper and season with salt and pepper.
3) In a large bowl, mix the flour, beer, and yeast until you have a paste. Then, add the fish fillets and coat them well.
4) Once the potatoes are cooked, remove them from the air fryer and add the fish fillets. If your air fryer isn’t very large, it’s best to do this in two batches to ensure even cooking. Spray the fillets with a little oil and set the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 15 minutes.
5) We serve and enjoy it right away. Enjoy!
