How to Style Baggy Jeans?

Autumn is just around the corner, and with it, the drop in temperatures. We’re increasingly drawn to wearing midi dresses with cardigans, long trousers that make us feel too hot in the middle of summer, and lightweight sweaters… And finally, we can bring back the quintessential transitional garment: jeans. They’re that infallible basic that, season after season, solves a multitude of outfit dilemmas.

How to Style Baggy Jeans

Take a look at these jeans outfits to suit your style, but if you feel like trying something different, get yourself some wide-leg jeans that are all the rage among fashion experts.

You’ve probably seen them on Instagram and wanted to wear them, but were afraid of how to style them. Well, we’ve found some street style, and Instagram looks to inspire you as you put together your own outfits.

Take note, because if you wear your oversized jeans in any of these ways, your outfit will be a 10/10!

wide-leg bell-bottom jeans

#1) Bell-bottom trousers

We don’t know why flared trousers disappeared from our lives from the early 2000s until just over two years ago: they’re incredibly flattering and look great with both boots and sneakers.

However, if you want a bolder look, opt for a good pair of chunky heeled sandals like the ones this influencer is wearing.

#2) Bootcut

Kaia Gerber has declared herself a fan of bootcut jeans, which she often pairs with a blazer. To dress it down, she wears the whole outfit with sneakers.

This look is perfect for a day at the office if you want to dress more casually. Underneath the blazer, opt for a fitted top to accentuate your waist.

#3) Culottes

Culottes are a timeless classic! They’re incredibly flattering and comfortable, and so easy to style (here are five tips for wearing them with flair).

If you don’t already own a pair, don’t hesitate to get some. Simply pair them with a shirt or a basic top, depending on the occasion, and you’ll have a fantastic look.

#4) Straight jeans

We usually tend to combine loose-fitting and fitted garments to avoid adding sizes and create a more streamlined silhouette.

However, those who truly know fashion dominate street style with layers upon layers, all in an oversized style. Don’t be afraid to wear your wide-leg jeans with a loose shirt and an oversized jacket. More is more.

wide-leg slouchy jeans

#5) Slouchy jeans

We discovered slouchy jeans in the summer of 2019, and we can’t get them out of our heads, simply because they’re incredibly flattering and, being loose-fitting, super comfortable.

If you prefer a simple look, pair them with sneakers or sandals, but if you’re feeling bold, don’t hesitate to wear them with boots, ankle boots, or high heels.

#6) Cropped flare

If you’re a fan of flared pants, you know that the length makes all the difference. Choose the style that flatters you most, although cropped pants are perfect to wear with your Converse sneakers, or even your cowboy boots, so they’re visible.

wide-leg low-rise jeans

#7) Wide and low rise

Yes, my friend, low-rise jeans are back. But don’t worry, not in the form of skinny jeans, but rather in the form of a good pair of boyfriend jeans.

If you’re going to try this trend, try the rolled-up hem like in the photo, add some Velcro sandals or sneakers when the temperatures drop, and a basic t-shirt or sweater to complete the look for a perfect and super comfortable outfit.

#8) Wide-leg jeans

A major trend of the past year, wide-leg jeans have become famous for how flattering they are to the waist.

Although they look good with everything, we especially love them with shorter tops like cropped sweaters, basic t-shirts, or shirts tucked in.

#9) Mom jeans

Mom jeans are a favorite among so many of us. They’re comfortable and go with everything. Plus, they’re super trendy and come in all sorts of styles and colors in every store.

My favorite look: mom jeans with a fitted top—or even with this summer’s biggest trend: the bandana top—for the hottest days. Yes, there are still some summer days left! When it gets colder, wear them with sweaters, cardigans, sweatshirts…

#10) Ripped jeans

It’s time to rock ripped wide-leg jeans without feeling a chill. This trend can be worn subtly, with a few rips, or more dramatically, with real rips like these Bershka jeans. The choice is yours.
