When it’s time to clean the curtains, or if we’ve just bought new ones and are about to hang them, do we know the right way to do it? How many times have we found rings or hooks left hanging? We know this can be a nuisance, so we want to help.
HOW TO HANG CURTAINS CORRECTLY
If you have a curtain track, the components you need to know and their arrangement are: the track itself, the sliding pulleys, the fixed pulley end cap, and the curtain hooks.
The sliding pulleys allow you to move the curtain along the track, while the fixed pulley end cap prevents the curtain from moving from the end of the track towards the center. The following images show these components in detail.
If you have a curtain rod to hang your curtains, the elements you need to know and their placement on the rod are the following: sliding rings, fixed rings, and curtain hooks.
Sliding rings allow you to move the curtain along the rod, while fixed rings prevent the curtain from moving from the end of the rod to the center. You can see these elements in detail in the images.
EXAMPLE OF HOW TO HANG CENTER OPENING CURTAINS:
The image below shows an example of how to hang a center-opening curtain on a rod. First, count the rings on the rod.
Divide them into two groups, moving each group of rings or pulleys to opposite ends. Insert the hooks from the middle of the window onto the fixed pulley or ring.
EXAMPLE OF HOW TO HANG SIDE-OPENING CURTAINS:
The following image shows an example of how to correctly install a side-opening curtain. First, count the pulleys or rings on the operating system.
Move all the pulleys or rings to the end of the window where the fixed pulley or ring is located. Insert the hooks from the middle of the window to the end where the fixed pulley is located; this is the last pulley to which the curtain hook will be attached.
