You probably already know that breakfast and brunch are some of my favorite meals. And sweet French toast is a must! It’s golden brown, soft, moist, and absolutely delicious with fruit and maple syrup.

How to Make French Toast 4

I can’t believe I hadn’t posted a recipe for classic sweet French toast on the blog yet. I had a recipe for oven-baked French toast, but not the typical pan-fried kind. The worst part is that I LOVE them; I took way too long, and I’m so sorry.

If you love breakfast and brunch as much as I do, I recommend my breakfast and brunch ebook, which has 30 recipes:

  1. Half are savory
  2. Half are sweet
  3. Includes 3 free bread recipes

Plus, that ebook includes a recipe for churro French toast and a baked apple croissant recipe that’s a HIT.

How to keep them warm?

A classic problem with French toast is that if you’re making it for several people, the first batches get cold while you’re preparing the next ones. Since you usually cook them one or two at a time, here’s a simple solution:

  1. Preheat the oven to 50–80°C / 120–180°F
  2. Place cooked toasts on a baking sheet
  3. Keep them warm until all batches are ready

That way, everyone can eat together, nice and hot.

This dish always reminds me of my mom. She made it on special days and when friends stayed over. Once, about seven friends stayed over, and she made it for all of us! What a job, Mom!

What to serve with French toast?

Any sweet accompaniment goes well with French toast. Some popular options include:

  1. A drizzle of maple syrup or honey
  2. A dollop of butter
  3. Whipped cream or ice cream
  4. Fresh berries

I’ll leave this part up to you.
