How to Fold Jeans to Save Space?

Whether you’re in the middle of a wardrobe overhaul, someone who keeps their jeans in drawers, or packing for a short getaway, you’ve probably faced the dilemma of how to fold Jeans most efficiently.

How to Fold Jeans to Save Space

There are three foolproof ways to minimize space and wrinkles, and we’ll explain them step by step.

How to fold Jeans: Marie Kondo rules!

If you have Netflix and you’re a neat freak, you probably already know how this woman has turned folding Jeans into an art form. For Marie Kondo, there are four essential steps:

  1. Join the legs: fold them in half, so that one leg is on top of the other with the back seam showing behind.
  2. Get rid of the seams: make a small fold in that back seam so that the Jeans are completely straight.
  3. Fold it in half: join the bottoms to the waistband of the Jeans.
  4. Fold it again: repeat the same step until the Jeans are rolled up like a salmon roll. This way you can store them all together and have them all in sight.

How to fold Jeans: make little packages

This second suggestion involves storing your pants (especially jeans) like socks: in little packets made by turning them inside out. It sounds complicated, but you only need to follow three steps:

  1. The leg fold: bring both legs together with the back seam facing outwards. Once they are placed one on top of the other, lift one leg and fold it diagonally.
  2. The roll: roll the Jeans up from the bottom to the waist, so that the leg we separated peeks out from the center of the roll.
  3. The package: completely turn that leg inside out, tucking the rest of the Jeans inside. This way, the package won’t unravel and you can store it more easily.

How to fold crease Jeans?

If the garment you want to preserve has a crease that’s already been ironed and you don’t want it ruined, use those creases to guide the entire folding process. To do this, you’ll have to forget about the usual “leg to leg with back seam showing” method we saw in the previous two.

Instead of joining the two Jeans legs, take the bottom of the trousers at the end of the pressed crease and use these lines to fold the garment inwards, as shown in the image. Once you’ve done that, you’ll just need to repeat the roll from previous versions. This way, we ensure we don’t lose that crease with its working girl and masculine touch.
