How To Apply Concealer?

Concealer is the ideal cosmetic for hiding blemishes, dark circles, scars, and other facial imperfections. But many people struggle to apply it because they aren’t completely satisfied with the result.

The truth is, it’s not as easy as it seems: there’s a trick to it, and we’re going to explain it to you. First of all, to apply any concealer, whether organic (like those from Zao Makeup or Inika Organic ) or conventional makeup, it’s best to follow these basic guidelines:

  1. Deep cleansing. It’s essential to prepare your skin before applying it; otherwise, you won’t achieve the desired results. It must be applied to a very clean face (after completing your cleansing routine): otherwise, it would be like trying to paint on paper with residue or dirt. Concealer, in particular, is the cosmetic that requires the most intense and thorough facial cleansing.
  2. Apply your moisturizer next. Apply the concealer at this point: after cleansing and on top of your moisturizer or day cream.
  3. A small amount. It’s important to use the minimum amount of product needed to directly cover the imperfection. One of the most common mistakes is applying too much product: avoid excess, especially when it comes to concealer.

Best applied with a brush. Finally, even though it comes in stick form, it usually looks better if you apply it with your fingers or a special brush and blend it with a blending brush until it’s completely melted into the skin’s texture.

WHAT IS GREEN CORRECTION FLUID USED FOR?

Everything mentioned applies to facial concealers that hide dark circles or other imperfections. If you’re dealing with red pimples, veins, rosacea spots, or any other type of red blemish, the ideal product is a green concealer.

The green corrector evens out facial tone and gives the face a smooth and uniform color.

If the stain is very dark (intense red), it’s best to apply a thin layer of beige concealer that matches your skin tone over the green concealer. If you follow these tips, you’ll see how the imperfections magically disappear. But it requires patience… and a little artistry.

IMPORTANT: The green corrector is always applied before the foundation or makeup base.

WHICH CONCEALER SHOULD I BUY?

Of course, it has to be certified organic makeup! No phthalates, no petroleum derivatives, no toxic ingredients, just like all the makeup we have at Bioherbarium. We have concealers available from:

Dr. Hauschka (Dr. Hauschka Concealer). It’s a thin stick ideal for applying directly to blemishes. If you prefer to use it with a brush, the Zao Makeup stick is a better option.

Zao Makeup, with its exceptionally healthy formula (not even talc-free), offers several beige concealer sticks. These medium-thick sticks can be used directly or applied using the recommendations we’ve provided above.

Zao Makeup also has a very practical and refillable green concealer, like all their makeup.

Organic Glam offers a palette of concealers that you can play with to your liking and achieve just the right shade you need.
